About This Treatment
Vitiligo surgery is indicated when vitiligo has been stable for at least 6 months (no new patches, no spread) and has not responded adequately to medical treatment. The procedure transplants melanocytes (pigment-producing cells) from normally pigmented donor skin into the depigmented patch โ the transplanted cells begin producing melanin in the new location over 4โ8 weeks.
